I give directions below for both. Most times I am just picking up a store-bought graham cracker crust. When buying a graham cracker crust for this recipe, you will want to look for the one that says "2 extra servings" on the packaging.
My apartment's oven only has the bottom heating element working, so I turn down the temperature by about 50 degrees when baking to avoid the bottom element heating up too much. I've made this recipe a few times and love it. I do, however, add a couple tablespoons of corn starch to thicken up the filling. I just made it with a hand mixer for the first time (I used to use an immersion blender) and had to leave out some of the filling from a store-bought crust (gonna use it for brownies) and it came out beautifully.
Thank you so much for this recipe! I was looking for a simple one to make my mom a cheesecake for her birthday. I had never made a cheesecake like this before even though it is my absolute favourite dessert. I'm addicted to this and so thrilled I can just make a cheesecake anytime I want now!
Hi! I know a good recipe when I see it..all ready to go, yet I'd previously prebaked my graham cracker crust prematurely..Do you think fully wrapped up in tin foil in water bath can prevent ruining by all this cooking it again? Deeply appreciate yr help. Have slot of confidence in you TKS for soonest reply..
This is the best cheesecake and so easy to make. It has become a favorite for birthdays and special occasions. Following the recipe exactly, yields a perfectly, creamy, tasty cheesecake. I made my own crust - also easy to do. We switch up fruit toppings. Let me add that my young grandchildren love it, too. AND be sure to add in the lemon - it adds a subtle enhancement. Thanks for creating and posting this dessert recipe. 5 Stars! Delicious!
Homemade graham cracker crust:18 graham cracker squares or 1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs (gluten-free if needed)1/4 cup sugar6 Tbsp butter, melted ~ dairy-free if needed
Can you buy ready-made graham cracker crust? There are a variety of ready-made graham cracker crusts. The most popular brands are Keebler Ready Crust and Honey Maid graham cracker crust.
Can Keebler Ready Crust be baked? All Keebler Ready Crust graham pie crusts can be baked if desired. Bake for 5 minutes if you want a golden crust for a no-bake dessert. Or bake according to your pie recipe instructions for a baked pie.
A graham cracker crust is made of crushed graham crackers, sugar, and melted butter. The ingredients are mixed together and then pressed into a pie pan. The crust is baked at 375° F (190° C) for 5 to 7 minutes. Prebaking the crust helps the crust keep its shape.
A store-bought premade graham cracker crust is made with similar ingredients. The difference is that a premade graham crust is not always made with crushed graham crackers. Instead, it is made with graham cracker ingredients like flour, graham flour, molasses, palm oil, and baking soda. Plus, additives for freshness and preservation.
To the graham cracker crumbs, we will add some sugar. You can use granulated or brown sugar. I most often use granulated, but when making something that seems like a good fit for brown sugar, like this Bananas Foster Cheesecake, I will use it.
I make a homemade cheese cake you pour it into a graham cracker crust then bake it for 30 mins at 350. If i make a home-made crust should i pre bake it as well, or just bake it for the 30 mins after i pour in my cheesecake mixture??
The graham cracker crust nor the filling requires any baking which means there are no eggs in this recipe and there is no extended baking or cooling times required. A no bake cheesecake is truly the fail-proof way to make cheesecake. No cracking, no baking, no water bath, no worries!
Stir melted butter together with graham cracker crumbs and a touch of sugar. Be sure every crumb is coated in butter to have a crust that sticks together. Press into a pie pan and refrigerate.
It was easy to make and delicious. I used a pre-made graham cracker crust. While mixing I stopped several times to scrape the bowl. After spreading out in pie crust I could see some little pieces of cream cheese in the mix but was unable to see any pieces when serving. I will be making cheesecake more often!
Once you've filled your premade case with the custard, you'll then bake your cheesecake low and slow to dessert perfect, chill overnight and serve the next day to the delight of everyone at your table.
While this pie does take added preparation time for the baking portion, I use a premade store bough graham cracker crust and also canned apple pie filling for two time-saving shortcuts. The caramel ice cream topping along with the apple pie filling makes an amazingly sweet topping for this creamy cheesecake pie dessert. You simply have to try this one!
It is a cheesecake made with a graham cracker crust, a homemade cheesecake filling, whipped topping, and an optional pie filling. This recipe is meant to be no bake so there are no eggs or anything in it that necessitate baking.
You can use a wide variety of different toppings on the cheesecake. I used about 1/2 of a can of pre-made cherry pie filling but you could use any other type of fruit pie filling or completely skip having any topping at all. It tastes great with just the cheesecake filling!
Whether you stick with the original or choose to spice up the flavor, having this classic graham cracker crust recipe under your belt will come in handy any time you want to make a homemade cheesecake.
It's the small parts of a recipe that make it a great recipe, I to love cheesecake and have probably made more different ones than you could imagine, favorite crust, graham cracker, which can be a bit temperamental at times, to buttery, to hard, I have even made home made grahm cracker, lined the pan and pre baked it, a lot of work but delicious and makes for a nice presentation, (recipe for the grahm crackers from the great Maidia Heatter), using for a cheesecake all my own. I made the best cheesecake last week, had 4 packs of cream cheese going to expire, not quite enough grahm crackers, nothing was room temp, microwave took care of that, no water bath, just whipped it up and threw it in the oven. It did not have a crack in it, it was perfect in every way. I appreciate that you explain so nicely how to make the crust, to some cooks it means a lot.
Because it makes this recipe SO much easier and less time-consuming!! We love a good graham cracker crust using graham cracker crumbs made in the food processor just like the rest of you, but the store-bought ones that most major grocery stores carry provide for a perfect crust for this pumpkin cheesecake, and allows you to focus on mixing up this delicious cheesecake filling.
i have made this cheesecake again and again and it never fails me, i love the instructions being accompanied with visuals as well as the formatting of each helpful tip. Thank you so much for posting this my boyfriend and I have never had a funner experience baking cheesecake for his mothers birthday (its sort of become an annual tradition thanks to this!)

Several tiers of white chocolate raspberry cheesecake made by the famed Hank's Cheesecakes in St. Louis, MO. served as our wedding cake. People are still talking today about how good the wedding food and the cake. Hank's Cheesecakes are time-consuming, elaborate affairs of pastry.
But am I the only one who has a hard time finding graham cracker crumbs on the grocery shelves now? It used to be in every, but a year or so ago, when I really needed it, I had a very hard time finding it. EventuallyI did, but I may even have had to order it online.
The recipe is good but I used the crust in cupcakes, for a strawberry cheesecake spin using cake and filling etc. The crust for my particular application was way too toffee flavor forward and over powered all of the strawberry flavor. Would be good maybe for a regular cheesecake or something.
First you'll preheat the oven and prep the crust on a baking sheet, You will also fill a baking dish half full of water and place it on the bottom rack of the oven, this prevents the cheesecake from drying out as it cooks.
I just made this with my five-year old daughter. Two issues so far (It is still in the oven.): it states 1 1/2 tbs flour in the list of ingredients, but not in the directions. (Did I miss it?) I only realized this after putting it in the oven. The second issue is that this recipe should state a deep pie crust as I have quite a bit of filling left over and filled it to the absolute top. If I'd had another regular pie crust on hand I would have just made two instead. I'm hoping it turns out! We will see in about 6 1/2 hours. 2b1af7f3a8
