The UK Transformers were often reprinted as a back-up strip in 2000 AD. This series began with issue #198, and ran for a total of 37 issues, ending with issue #225. Regular back-ups in the later issues occasionally featured stories that were to be reprinted as the first issue of the next volume. For example, Robo-Capers was reprinted in volume 2, Gears was reprinted in volume 3, Gen 13 was reprinted in volume 4, and Colin was re-printed in volume 5. The second volume of Gen 13 was later reprinted as a stand-alone, one-off story.

Transformers, written by John Freeman, illustrated by Dan Green, was originally published in the UK in issue #213 of the magazine.
