OK now that i have some food for thoughts and responses here’s what i think we could do with the conversation and that i think is worth exploring more:

I think it’s important to clear up a few notions as to how this all works (for what it s worth i think i know a fair amount about antennas and their use and i also have some understanding of multiple antenna use and/or operation and so on:

I find that this is very often the case when you have a wifi access point that is not working and can even occur if there is no data connection with the end device and it goes into an “idle low power state”.

This is why i think that it s also important to clearly express what this means. Both at the end device and the AP.

Now i do think that this is something to do with different APs having different idle low power states that are intended to conserve power. Obviously i think that’s a good idea (at least in theory) because it saves costs.

Now here’s where the whole thing starts to get complicated. Again, there are reasons why we want to use the term “listening” instead of “connected” and vice versa.
